What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
The ideal time for a newborn session is within the first two weeks after birth. During this time, babies tend to be sleepier and more content, which helps create those calm, snuggly moments that photograph beautifully. As babies grow more alert, they can also start making some pretty funny faces!
For in-home sessions, the best time of day is usually when your home has the most natural light in the space where we plan to photograph. If you have older children, we’ll also try to schedule the session around nap times so everyone is well-rested and happy.Time of day for In Home sessions is best when the time of day is brightest in your home in the location we will photograph. If you have other kiddos, we also want to avoid nap time.
How long will it take to get my edited photos back?
You will receive your edited images within 4-6 weeks send via an online gallery.
How many pictures will we receive?
The Moment Session-
You will receive 40+ professionally edited images delivered in an online gallery, along with a print release so you can download, print, and share your images.
Birth Photography-
You will receive 100+ professionally edited images that tell the story of your birth experience, also delivered in an online gallery with a print release. I will also send 5+ preview images within 24 hours of delivery, so you have a few special moments to share and enjoy right away.
Can I print at Walmart/Walgreens?
Technically, yes—but I strongly recommend not doing so. After investing in your session, it’s worth making sure your images are printed with the quality they deserve.
Consumer labs like Walmart or Walgreens can significantly alter the color, brightness, and overall quality of your photos. Professional printing ensures that your images look the way they were carefully edited to appear.
You’ll be able to order high-quality prints directly from a professional lab through your online gallery, which is the best way to guarantee beautiful, true-to-color results. I also recommend Mpix (they often run great coupons) if you’d like another reliable professional printing option.
Do you photograph outside of sioux falls?
I offer birth photography exclusively for families in Sioux Falls, South Dakota so that I can be available and arrive quickly when labor begins.
For other sessions (newborn, family, and lifestyle), I photograph clients in and around Sioux Falls. If you’re unsure whether you’re within my travel area, feel free to reach out—I’m always happy to chat and see what might work.
I also offer limited family photography sessions in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
